Asking for help is the first step; it's also the hardest. We understand that at PPS, and we appreciate your courage.

Contact us when you're ready to schedule your first appointment. You can expect that meeting to last approximately 60 minutes. It is an opportunity for you to share your reasons for seeking treatment, ask questions of your provider, and determine if PPS is the best fit for your individual situation. It is an opportunity to talk with your provider in a relaxed, supportive, and confidetial environment.

The fee for an initial therapy consultation with Dr. Parnell is $200, payable at the time of the session. After that the fee for individual therapy is $190 for each 50- to 55- minute session. Family therapy sessions are billed at $200 per session.

The fee for an initial therapy consultation with Ms. Penley is $150, payable at the time of the session. After that the fee for individual therapy is $125 for each 50- to 55- minute session. Family therapy sessions are billed at $150 per session.

Evaluation rates vary, and you may contact the office for more information.

Parnell Psychological Services accepts many BCBS and Aetna insurance programs. Clients are responsible for the full fee for services at the time of the appointment. Parnell Psychological Servies will bill a client's insurance company, and reimburse the client any overpaid fees.

Parnell Psychological Services is not in network with the following BCBS policies: HMO plans, Blue Value POS, Blue Local with Carolina HealthCare System, Blue Local with Duke Medicine and WakeMed, all other POS, Medicare Advantage. Clients with these policies will be responsible for the entire fee for services at the time of their appointment and may check with their provider for out-of-network benefits (see below).

For all other insurances, clients pay the full fee at the time of their appointment and are responsible for filing with their insurance provider for out-of-network benefits. Most insurance companies provide reimbursement to clients for therapy sessions with out-of-network providers. "Out-of-network" means that the client pays the established fee at the time of service, and then works with their insurnace company to secure reimbursement. It is the client's responsbility to know and understand their individual insurance benefits and the policies' of their insurance provider. You may wish to contact your insurer prior to initiating therapy to determine your benefits. A limited number of reduced fee slots may be available upon request.
